March 2017

Cute cousins made necklaces together with Grandma.  Graham even made one for his dinosaur name "Horny" haha!

Paxton and Dad just doing some reading together.

I love driving down our neighborhood in the spring time, it's so beautiful!  Pictures don't do it justice.

Boys will be boys.

Always doing some sort of tackling.  Paxton is a good brother to be somewhat gentle with Graham.

Grrr, the picture is sideways.  But I wanted to post this cute chicken-wire frame that Rem made for me.  It's perfect for highlighting someone on their birthday!  This month it's all about Paxton.  I love seeing some of the old pictures from when he was younger.

Paxton turns 7!

It's tradition around here to wake up with tons of balloons on your birthday.

Every year Paxton gets a new St. Patrick's Day shirt.  This year we found a Pokemon one, he loved it!

Graham picked out a toy lizard for Pax, he loved it.

We took Paxton shopping for a new bike later.

Paxton got to be star of the week and bring a poster all about him to school. On Friday that week (which was his birthday) Rem and I got to come in to help with a parent/child activity.  They started out with Paxton's teacher talking about Paxton and what she thought was great about him and then Rem and I talked about him.  Then the students got to ask him questions.  One thing his teacher said that we thought was very fitting to Paxton's personality is "he moves at his own pace", also that he is a friend to everyone!  We love that about him.

We then had Paxton put on his Tae Kwon Do clothes and show some of his moves he has learned.  Afterwards we read one of our favorite books called Samarai Santa (yes it's a Christmas book) but the kids loved it.  Then for our activity to go along with the book we gave half the kids ninja head scarfs and the other half snowmen neck scarves.  We took them outside and had a snowball fight with fake snowballs.  Rem wore a Santa hat and got the kids all crazy.  They all had a blast, it was a big hit!  I even heard some younger kids that were playing on the playground say "where did they get the snow from?"

Walking home from school.

Party time!
We do birthday parties every other year so this year Paxton got to invite one friend to do something fun with. He brought his good buddy, Henry along to Classic Fun Center. They did scooters, bounce houses, video and arcade games and more! After spending a couple hours there, we went to Chuck-a-Rama for dinner. And even though Paxton was upset with me for telling him we weren't doing a birthday party this year, he ended up having a blast and loved it just as much as any other party.
(it was hard to take many pictures of these kids at Classic because they were constantly on the move!)

Little stinkers would not look at me for a picture.

After dinner we went and picked up my cousins boy, Sam for a sleepover. We made a fort with sleeping bags in the basement tv room complete with treats and they watched a movie before they went to sleep. The next morning we made waffles, they played nerf guns and after lunch we went to Scheels.

Scheels!
The boys had fun walking around Scheels getting pictures, playing shooting games and going on the Ferris wheel.

After we took Sam home we went shopping for a new bike! It was a good couple of days for this birthday boy!

Oh and it's not over, that night we had some family over for cake and ice cream!

Cute cousins!

The next day we went to Sorenson family Sunday dinner. We celebrated Paxton's and a few others birthdays. This kid sure got spoiled this weekend!

The Zoo

This is Grahams friend, Elly. I watch her once a week and these two go to preschool together. They are good buddies. I decided to take them to the zoo one day while the big kids were at school. We also invited Sandee and cousin Jake to come along. These kiddos sure had a great time!

Tae Kwon Do
Color belt testing
We signed Paxton up for some martial arts. He is really enjoying it with his friend Amanda that joined with us. Tonight he did great on his test and earned his yellow/white stripe belt.
