July 2016

This silly boy has been taking swim lessons and now is loving to put his face under the water (he didn't use to love it).

We took the kids and met up with Rem's boss, Adam and his family to the drive-in movies.  We saw Secret Life of Pets and then we put the kids to bed in the car and watched the second movie, Independence Day.  I didn't last very long, so I went and slept in the car too.

I brought the boys with me to my nail appointment, they wanted their nails painted too.  My friend, Stacey had extra time so she painted their nails, they picked out pink and purple.  Their dad is going to kill me!  Ha ha!

Family Pictures
at the Ranch

Graham and Grandpa Sorenson

We have been working on re-doing the boys bedroom.  Rem bought this cool light fixture from Ikea and painted to look like the death star.  Then he hung this huge shelves so we could put up all boys favorite characters, trophies, pictures and such.  I love how it turned out.

Visiting GG Soderberg, wishing her well and Happy Birthday!

Loving that we have a hammock in our backyard!

Ranch Family Vacation
We love going to the Ranch, it's our heaven on earth.

There were some animals up there this year!  A bunch of horses, a donkey and this cute baby cow.  We even got to help feed it it's milk.  But watch out when the bottle is empty it will chase you!

Paxton and my aunt Carolyn rocking The Flash.
Pax and his best buddy Sam hanging out working on some arts and crafts.

Pax had a blast with the pool this year!!!  Usually he hangs out on the stairs for the most part, but he has been taking some swimming lessons so now he is super confident and did great in the pool!  He also has grown a bunch from last year that he can touch the bottom of almost the whole pool.

Happy 4th of July
We made hats and decorations, loaded up the trailer with benches, balloons, squirt guns and candy, then joined the town parade!  We looped around twice through the tiny town parade.  And the guys had fun squirting their water guns mostly up in the air, but some directly at a few (probably were drunk) ladies that were asking for it ;)

Glow sticks in the pool for a night time swim.  It's so nice to have a naturally heated pool to swim in nightly.

Fishing with the kids and Grandpa was probably one of my highlights this year!  It was fun to see them get excited about the fish and throw them back into the water.  I was surprised to even see Paxton touching the fish, he hasn't been a big fan in the past.

Paxton even touched and sat on the donkey, just long enough for a picture.  He is overcoming his fears of touch animals.

Paxton, Brandon, Bryce, Sam, Carter and Luke.

It was so fun to see these two be such good buddies this trip.  Sam's mom, Angie is my cousin and we were best buddies when we were young and played non stop when we were at the ranch.

Camping with cousins
We had a fun one night camping getaway with some of the Sorenson cousins up Provo Canyon at Nunns Park.  The kids were really excited about our tent trailer and spent a lot of time playing in there.  It was so fun to spend time out doors, go for walks, play games and just enjoy each others company.   It was a warm day so we drove into Orem and found a pool to cool off for a few hours and then back to camp.

The next day we rode our bikes and scooters to Bridal Veil Falls, it was beautiful!

Happy 24th of July!
Our ward does a breakfast and a bike parade for the 24th.  The kids have fun decorating their bikes and riding them around the park.

Pax and his friend, Blake

A day out with neighbor friends
We went to City Creek for lunch with a bunch of neighbor friends.  The kids had fun playing at the dinosaur playground.

Then we drove over to  Liberty Park to play in the water and at the playground.  The kids had a blast!

Seven Peaks Fun Center (aka Trafalga)
We went with Jamie and Dan and their kids for some last minute fun.  The kids had fun riding all the rides, well most of them.

Paxton and I teamed up to soak Dan and Lucy.  We all got pretty wet!

On the actual 24th of July we joined some of my family at the Cottonwood Heights firework show, they put on a pretty good show!

Although it is quite the walk from the car to our seats, good thing we brought the bike stroller.  On the way back, Graham fell asleep pretty quick!

Seven Peaks Water Park
We have a pass to Seven Peaks so it's fun to come and swim and do the lazy river.  My kids are not fans of doing the big tube slides.  We at least made them try it once.  We try to bribe them every time we go.
