September 2015

-Paxton has been riding his scooter to school.  One day I was out running errands so I went to pick him up with the car, but he insisted on riding his scooter home.  I was a little nervous letting him do this on his own, but I trusted he could do it.  And he did!  I caught up with him on our street, here he is trying to race me.
-One day Graham wanted to ride his bike.  I took it on the stroller on the way to school and let him ride it home.  It was a VERY long walk home.

-Paxton has recently started loving to draw (it use to be a struggle to get him to want to color).  We had fun doing some sidewalk chalk, he was drawing monsters.

The boys sometimes like to help in the kitchen.  Here we are making peach and strawberry jam.  And Paxton helped me make cookies.  I remember as a kid getting to lick the beaters after making cookies, Paxton wanted to do the same.

We went to Home Depot and joined in on this kids craft they were doing.  The boys had fun hammering nails and painting.

In my old house a lot of my furniture was black.  Moving to our new house, I have not loved all my black furniture.  So I decided to paint it.  I have never done this before, this was my first piece of many.  I painted it gray and distressed it.  I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Love this boys smile.

Graham trying on some new shoes we just bought him.

Paxton is still cavity free!  I love Burgs Children's Dentistry, they do so great with Paxton.  Graham kept saying "my turn" over and over again, so I made him an appointment for next time!

This picture is a little hard for me to write about, but it happened and it's something that I can't just forget about or erase from my life.  Rem and I were ready to add to our family, it was time to use our last two frozen embryos.  It was an exciting time!  Graham was a little over 2 years old, we loved the 3 year gap in between our boys so we planned to do it again.  And this time we had it all planned out, or so we thought.  It seemed too easy this time, not that doing In Vitro is easy.  But with our first two children it took a while to bring them into our family.  With Paxton it was years of infertility testing, a failed artificial insemination and a failed adoption before we became parents for the first time.  And with Graham it was more testing and doing In Vitro for the first time which included LOTS of shots and feeling sick, but so blessed that it worked the first time!  With that In Vitro we got four embryos, we used 2 and froze 2.  So this time it seemed easy as far as we got to plan it out, there were already embryos ready for us so I didn't have to go through as much shots and procedures, I wasn't sick through it, it wouldn't cost as much and I had already done it before so I knew what to do/expect.  Well it was too good to be true, we can't bring babies into our family that easily.  It was a hard day finding out the bad news that the In Vitro failed.  But life goes on, we have plenty of distractions.  I think about Paxton and Graham and how grateful I am for them and how lucky we are to have them.  I think about how grateful I am for our infertility struggles.  If we didn't have them, Paxton would have never been in our family.  It is hard being in the middle of your trials, but hopefully one day I can look back on this one and be grateful for it.  I know my Heavenly Father has a plan for me, I have faith in him.  I still have hard moments, but for the most part I am okay.  I think.

Our plan for now is to go to Disneyland, enjoy our family and heal.  We are not sure of our next step after that as far as adding to our family, it's a lot to think about.  In Vitro again?  or adoption?  Or are we done?  I don't know?  It's hard.

Paxton's first bike we got him was just one we found on the side of the road in a pile of free stuff.  It just needed a little fixing up, but we soon realized why no one wanted it.  No matter how many times we changed the tube in the tire, it kept popping after a matter of minutes.  So we gave up and Paxton rode his scooter and trike for a while until one day our neighbor across the street offered her sons old bike that he wasn't using anymore.  It was perfect!  So we got her a gift card and Paxton drew a picture of a bike on the sidewalk with him and his friend and his mom.  I loved his drawing so much that I had to take a picture.

We finally hung some things in the house!  The project on the left is one I just made, you can go here for a tutorial on how to make it (the first display is my sisters, scroll down to see mine).  The wall on the right, I already had the stuff, I just wanted to get something hung up in the boys room even though I eventually plan on re-doing their room.  It might be a while until I get to that project.  We have a lot of projects going on right now.

Here is Lilo.  She still is with us ;)

Cousin time!

Zoo
We took my friend Kimberlee and her boys Jack and Mick to the Zoo.  Jack and Graham almost look like they could be twins.  We went in the morning when Paxton was at school.  I felt guilty going without him, but it was fun to have some one on one time with Graham.

Dinosaur Museum
Then Kimberlee took us to the Dinosaur Museum.  The boys had a fun time here, they played so well together.

My Cousins Wedding
My cousin Tyson and Holly got married up at our family cabin.  It was beautiful being outdoors in the mountains and my aunt did an amazing job at decorating the place!  I wish I could have stayed all night long, but I had a major migraine that I was trying to push through, but I just couldn't handle it any longer.  The weather was perfect, there was great company, yummy food and good music.  The kids were having a blast dancing and playing in the dirt and we even saw a moose.  I'm so happy for those two, they make a beautiful couple who are very much in love.

It was a good evening except for the migraine.
