April 2020

What we do during a Pandemic...
Paxton really wanted to try lightning his hair.  Since the salon was closed and I wasn't doing hair, I thought what the heck.  We had a great time at the salon and he LOVED his hair!  It was fun, but I didn't love it.  It looked pretty good when we took the time to style it, but why do your hair when you're in a pandemic and stuck at home all the time.  So it just didn't look great most of the time.  But the most important thing is that he loved it.

Visiting the GG's
When you are stuck home and don't get to see your family, you find ways to go see them.  It was Easter time so we drew some pictures and headed out for a visit.

Sidewalk chalk for GG Moss, she wasn't home.

Pictures and signs for GG Soderberg.  My grandma is in an assisted living place so we had to visit her at her window.

Visiting GG Hughes at her home with masks and pictures to decorate her window.

Blossoms
I really wanted to go see the blossoms at the capitol so we picked up some lunch and headed out.  It was super crowded so we found a spot on the grass to eat quick, take a few pictures and leave.  The trees were so beautiful!

Easter Egg Hunt
We invited our neighbor friends, the Goodman's over to do an Easter Egg Hunt on the Saturday before Easter because it was supposed to get really cold the next day.  We tried our best to stay socially distanced and they did their hunt on one half of the yard and we did ours on the other half.  We were glad we did it because it was cold the next day and it was fun to have friends over.  I loved watching Harper crawl around and finding eggs, with a little help of course because she just wanted to open them and eat the candy inside.

Happy Easter
Easter Sunday was very different this year.  Normally I get them new Sunday clothes or at least a new tie and I fill their baskets.  This year with the pandemic I wasn't on top of things and the night before started to realize that I didn't have hardly anything for them and the stores were already closed because now they close early.  So we had to just make due.  Luckily they didn't seem disappointed.  And even though we were having church at home, I still made everyone dress up so we could get a nice picture.  Also, since we did our Easter Egg hunt the day before we boiled some eggs and colored them.  We had dinner at home together as a family and were missing our extended family so we did a couple of video chats with them.

New Bike!
We wanted to get Paxton a new bike for his birthday, but never got a chance to take him out shopping before everything shut down.  So after doing lots of internet shopping, talking to friends trying to figure out what kind of bike to get him we finally went out shopping and we bought the first bike we saw.  He loves it!

Teacher Appreciation Week COVID style
We love our teachers!  The PTA posted the teachers names around the school and asked that the students come and show some love.  I had the boys make some signs to put on the wall and we also brought sidewalk chalk to write and draw on the sidewalk.

St. George
We were ready to go back to St. George again.  We have been cooped up in our house and the weather has been cold so we were ready to get back to some warm weather and stare at some different walls.  My sister Erika and her family came with us.  We did get out for walks, hikes, bike rides and even some kayaking.   We tried staying a couple days longer and do school there, but it was too hard to keep the kids focused so we decided to head home.  We had a great time!

Lots of Bows!
