kid talk and more

Some things we want to always remember about Paxton...

He finally figured out how to do thumbs up with just his thumb and not his other fingers.

His favorite thing to watch these days is Lion King, it use to be Barney or Leap Frog.  He loves Lion King ten times more than any other movie or show.  He asks for it all day long and even when it's over he asks for it again and when I tell him that he just watched it, he throws himself on the floor crying.  He loves the music and gets so excited when he hears it.  We rented some Disney music from the library to listen to in the car and now he just asks for the Lion King song.  At the beginning part of the movie where it shows all the different animals gathering together, he will name all of them off.  At the part where Simba is being chased by a herd, Paxton gets up and starts running up and down the hall, saying "run fast" (he does this every time, so cute).  He sometimes will get up and dance to "Hakuna Matata" and "I just can't wait to be King".  Paxton does not sit through movies, he gets bored of them, but not Lion King, he loves it!

Pax still LOVES to read books!  He will read them by himself on occasion and sometimes I even find him saying the words he remembers out loud.  When I read him a book, as soon as we are finished he will say "one more" and after we have read one more he will say it again and again until I say it's enough.

Before bedtime we brush his teeth (which he likes to help out), say prayers (which he is now repeating what we say) and give hugs and kisses (he now always says "family hugs").

Paxton is becoming a very picky eater.  I would have to say his favorites are string cheese, Mac n' Cheese and hot cereal.  He has many other things he will eat and like, but it's getting to be fewer and fewer it seems like it.

I love it when Paxton sometimes after he laughs he says "oh gosh".  It cracks me up everytime!

Paxton makes everyone feel loved.  This is my sweet Grandma, she was over for dinner the other day at my parents and Paxton took this book over to her and took her by the hand and said "read it".  It was so sweet.  He is very good about greeting everyone and using their names.  Paxton is so friendly, sometime he can be shy towards new people, but he warms up to them quickly.

Paxton can be very difficult to punish these days.  The other day Paxton threw a huge fit over something and Rem told him that if he didn't stop, he would have to go on time out.  Paxton immediatly stopped,  excitedly said "time out" and took his dad by the hand and walked to time out and willingly sat there.  I don't know if it's punishing him when he's excited about it.

I tell Paxton that he is cute ALL the time.  Every once in a while he doesn't like when I say this to him, the conversation goes a little like this...
Me:  Oh Paxton, you're so cute!
Paxton:  Don't tell me!
Me:  Oh but I am going to tell you because you are cute.
Paxton:  NO!
It makes me laugh when he says "don't tell me"  :)

Paxton's starting to sing parts of songs.  It shocks me everytime he starts to sing one.  It's crazy how much these kiddo's pick up on things.

Every night when I put him to bed I tell him "you are the best ever, in the whole world".  One day when I was holding Pax, he started patting me on the back and said "best ever, whole world".  Thanks buddy!

I LOVE this kid so so so so much!!!

Haha, that video cracked me up. I remember doing those same elephant noises with him in the car last summer.

He stopped the fit, though, right? Even if he was happy in time out. I'd rather have a happy kid in time out than a screaming, crying one. Count your blessings:) He is adorable!
